EIGHTH NEWSLETTER April 2010
Since its inception in 1996, the Trust has provided well over £600,000 for the benefit of persons who are young or disabled, and for the building of sea defences at HISC.
More recently – in Spring 2009 - the Trust was able to assist Sue Bannister with collecting gift-aided donations for her sponsored Bike Ride. These donations enabled the Thursday Club to purchase new covers for seven of their dinghies and also various spare Oppie parts.
This year, early bird sailors at HISC will have observed the new replacement Pontoon in construction. It is now nearly finished and HISTT has been able to grant £12,320 towards its cost, this being about one third of the amount needed. The pontoon is widely used for youth and RYA squad training purposes and is invaluable for allowing disabled participation in sailing.

The Trust would like to thank members of HISC who gave specific donations in aid of the Pontoon and also to thank, again, those members who continue to donate on a regular basis.
The Trustees have already met with Officers of HISC this year to discuss ways in which we, the Trust, can help with raising funds for future projects which come within the remit of the Trust.
