In addition to the points series run by HISC the fleet has Saturday and Sunday series that run throughout the whole of the main season. The number of races to count is kept low so that as many of the fleet members will have enough race results to qualify for the series. While those that sail throughout the season have some advantage, anyone whose sailing is limited to the peak months can win the series, if they can win enough races.
The number of races to count is one third of the races sailed, rounded down, plus 1. This is similar to the club series calculation where the factor is one half instead of one third.
For each series there is a prize for first and second placing and also a small turnout out trophy donated by Donald Dunford in 2003. These go to the helm who has turned out the most times, but who has not won a trophy or prize.
Usually now, with such big fleets, prizes are given for third, fourth and fifth places and both series, starting in late March and going through till October, are hotly contested over the whole season.
