1071 sailors belong to the Solo Association and with the increasing number (i.e doubled last year!) of boats being built, this number is on the up as well. This allows for the annual subscription to remain at the same rate of £15 and for this you get three magazines per year, which are very interesting and useful, a yearbook with all the rules in, a £5 discount at Noble Marine insurance and free training events. There is also a very active Web Site - www.solosailing.org.uk - which is the only place to buy and sell boats and bits.
Although our club has one of the biggest fleets in the country, we are not the fleet with the most members in the Association - I think we are about third down the list. In view of the following, now would be a good time to try and remedy this!
The Autumn magazine has just come out. It seems to be quite fat and in it there are lots of useful adverts, some amazing picture, and assorted interesting articles Also enclosed are the the subscription reminders - so fill’ em in and send ‘em off sharpish, before you forget.
