ANNIVERSARY T-SHIRT LOGO AS USED BY THE ASSOCIATION

2006 is the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the Solo dinghy designed by Jack Holt. There will be many events to celebrate this anniversary, both Nationally and locally. For example, at the National level, all paid up members of the National Solo Class Association will be entered, for free, in the draw for Solo 5000!

At HISC we have a number of events planned, the main events being over the Pennant Weekend of June 9th to 11th. These are the Anniversary Dinner on the Friday and the Anniversary Race on the Sunday. The Club have said that they will be organising a Pig Roast for the Saturday evening with music by a Steel Band.

We are negotiating with Holt for some sponsorship for the racing. Although they are busy sponsoring the Nationals, they seem quite interested in providing us with some goodies.

The Blaydes family have designed a logo for the shirts that Holt are contemplating distributing to competitors - we didn’t like the one above very much! It looks like this and will be emblazoned across T- shirts. rash vests and polo shirts, and quite possibly a few other places also. Holt will provide prizes for the first three places and several spot prizes as well.

The Fleet is expecting to provide a Special Prize for first place which will be a lovely bowl carved by master carpenter, John Bovis.

Meanwhile, all entrants for the racing and guests for the dinner are being listed on separate pages.
Hurry and get your name down for the racing or let Robert, Jerry or Trevor know if you can’t sail but could lend your boat to someone competent from another fleet: - there are several requests for boats!
Invitations for the tickets are out so don’t be slow - buy yours ASAP and get on the list.
